Studio Policy

Our policy helps us provide the best service

Lesson Scheduling

Lessons will be held weekly throughout the entire year. Twice a week lesson is available upon request. A minimum of four lessons are requried per month within the academic year (September to June).

Opus 1 Music Studio will be closed on the following holidays:
Labor Day - 9/3
Thanksgiving Week - 11/22-24
Winter Break - 12/24-1/1
Summer Break - 7/1-7/6

Cancellations & Make-Up Lessons

Please give at least 24 hours advanced notice if you must cancel a lesson. Every effort will be made to schedule a make-up class, depending on the student's need and the available time. Last minute cancellations and no show will NOT be made up. Doctor's note or School early dismissal form will be required to make up a last minute cancellation.

Opus 1 Music Studio reserve the right not to reschedule a lesson if rescheduling happens frequently.

No credits or make-up will be given if you miss any group lessons.

If a student needs to take a vacation during the academic year and do not wish to fullfill the 4 lessons per month policy, it will count as a withdrawal from the lesson. The student will have to re-enroll when he/she is back from the break. The re-enrollment fee is $25 for returning students. Please note that any remaining lesson's credits will expire 30days after the canceled lesson.

Rescheduling

Two-week advance notice is required for planned vacations, scheduling changes, or conflicts. Thus student and the teacher will be able to make adjustments to the schedule so that the minimum requirement of 4 lessons per month is met. If a teacher needs to be absent due to illness, workshops, conventions, competitions or performances; a make-up lesson or a substitute teacher will be arranged. Lessons missed because of the instructor's absence will always be rescheduled or credit will be given toward your next month's payment.

Discontinuing the lesson

If at any point you are unhappy with your lessons, please first discuss the problem with your instructor. Often times, a simple conversation can identify and solve the problem.

If you have discovered that the student-teacher relationship is just not the right fit, please feel free to speak to the director at Opus 1 Music Studio and she will be happy to discuss with you about your concern and situation. In this case, we can arrange you with another instructor at our studio which will definitely meet your need and requirement.

Regardless of the reason, as a courtesy to your instructor, we required a two-week notice in writing if you plan to discontinue the lessons. Opus 1 Music Studio will not refund any remaining paid lessons.

I feel so proud and grateful for what she has learned through her music journey over the past 5 years at Opus 1 Music Studio...
