Studio Policy
Our policy helps us provide the best service
Lesson Scheduling
Lessons will be held weekly throughout the entire year. Twice a week lesson is available upon request. A minimum of four lessons are requried per month within the academic year.
Cancellations & Make-Up Lessons
Please give at least 24 hours notice if you must cancel a lesson. Every effort will be made to schedule a make-up class, depending on the student's need and the available time. Last minute cancellations of ANY REASON and no show will NOT be made up. No credits or make-up lessons will be given if you miss any group lessons.
We understand that some illnesses and emergencies are last-minute in nature. Although we sympathize with the situation, it is still very unlikely that these lessons can be rescheduled. It is a standard policy among professional instructors nationwide that missed lessons are usually not rescheduled and are never reimbursed.
If a student needs to take more than two weeks off for any reason, she/he can pay half of the tuition to reserve her/his spot. Otherwise, we cannot guarantee the time slot when he/she returns.
Rescheduling
Two-week advance notice is required for planned vacations, scheduling changes, or conflicts. Thus student and the teacher will be able to make adjustments to the schedule so that the minimum requirement of 4 lessons per month is met. If a teacher needs to be absent due to illness, workshops, conventions, competitions or performances; a make-up lesson or a substitute teacher will be arranged. Lessons missed because of the instructor's absence will always be rescheduled or credit will be given toward your next month's payment.
Discontinuing the lesson
If at any point you are unhappy with your lessons, please first discuss the problem with your instructor. Often times, a simple conversation can identify and solve the problem.
If you have discovered that the student-teacher relationship is just not the right fit,
please feel free to speak to the director at Opus 1 Music Studio and she will be happy to discuss with you about your concern and situation. In this case, we can arrange you with another instructor at our studio which will definitely meet your need and requirement.
Regardless of the reason, as a courtesy to your instructor, we required a two-week notice if you plan to discontinue the lessons. Opus 1 Music Studio will not refund any remaining paid lessons.
