GROUP LESSONS

Music Octopus (2-5 years old): this early music awareness class is designed for children aged 2-5. Music theory, music instruments, music history, singing technique will be introduced. The class meets weekly for 30 minutes. Monthly flat rate tuition is $68. Enrollment is on-going; students are welcome to join anytime. Walk-in tuition is $20 each class.

Piano Slippery Fish (3-4 years old): a group keyboard class for children aged 3-4, designed for students with limited or no music experience. Keyboard technique, music theory, rhythm exercises, sight reading and ear-training will be introduced. Class size is limited to 4-8 students. Parent participation is required. Each session consists of 12 classes. Class meets weekly for 50 minutes. Tuition is $300/12 classes, and a one-time material fee is $40. Try out class is $30 per lesson.

Piano Tuna Fish (5-6 years old): a group keyboard class for children aged 5-6, designed for students with limited or no music experience. Keyboard technique, music theory, rhythm exercises, sight reading ad ear-training will be introduced. Class size is limited to 4-8 students. Parent participation is required. Each session consists of 12 classes. Class meets weekly for 50 minutes. Tuition is $300/12 classes, and a one-time material fee is $40. Try out class is $30 per lesson.

Violin Great White Shark (6-8 years old): a group violin class for children aged 6-8. The class is designed for students with limited or no music experience. Technique, music theory, ear training, sight reading, rhythm exercises will be introduced. Class size is limited to 4-8 students. Parent participation is NOT required, and students are required to have their own instruments. Each session consists of 12 classes. Class meets weekly for 45 minutes. Tuition is $300/12 classes, and a one-time material fee is $160. (Material fee includes a whole violin set with violin, case, bow, rosin, music stand and music books.) $120 will be deducted from the material fee if you have your own instrument.

Guitar Blue Whale (6-8 years old): a group guitar class for children aged 6-8. The class is designed for students with limited or no music experience. Classical guitar playing technique, music theory, sight reading of staff notes and chords, rhythm exercises will be introduced. Class size is limited to 4-8 students. All students are required to have their own instruments. Each session consists of 12 classes. Class meets weekly for 45 minutes. Tuition is $300/12 classes, and a one-time material fee is $200. (Material includes a whole set with guitar, footstool, music stand and music books.) $140 will be deducted from the material fee if you have your own instrument.

Group Choral Lesson

Age: 6-9 years old
Time: 3:30 pm - 4:15 pm
Class size: 4-8 students
Class description: This one hour class will work on sightreading skills, theory, and vocal techniques employing varied techniques and a repertoire of classical, folk, showtunes and jazz. Harmony will also be taught using round, partner songs. descants, and obbligatos.

Group Choral Lesson

Day: Friday
Time: 3:45 pm - 4:30pm
Classes: Jan 11, 2008 - Mar 28, 2008
Class description: This 45 minute class will work on theory and sightreading skills, singing in-tune and rhythm and pitch recognition. Techniques used will be varied depending on the skills of the students. Kodaly pedagogy will be employed to teach solfeggio and harmony, and a varied repertoire of folk, classical, and show tunes.

Day: Wednesday or Thursday
Time: 4:00 pm - 5:00pm
Classes: Jan 9, 2008 - Mar 27, 2008

PRIVATE LESSON
Receive weekly or daily one-on-one instruction in piano, violin, guitar, voice, flute, music composition and other instruments. The lesson will include ear training, music theory, and sight-reading. Lesson time can be 30, 45, 60 minutes in length (based on the level of student.) Tuition is $40/30 min lesson, $60/45 min lesson and $80/60 min lesson. Students will also be required to purchase music books for the class.
   
  COMPETITIONS
Students who show great potential and enthusiasm in their studies will be recommended by teachers to prepare for any music competitions.
  EXAMS
Many of our students have been certified by Associated Board Royal School of Music (ABRSM) or the Certificate of Merit (CM). Our teachers are all members of these organizations.

ABRSM is the world’s leading exam board. They have exams over 90 countries in the world. They hold exams twice a year in every May and November. Please check with our teachers or visit their website at www.abrsm.org for more information.

Certificate of Merit (CM) is an exam program created by Music Teachers’ Association of California. They have about 60 branches throughout the state. They hold exam once a year in between March to May. Please check with our teachers or visit their website at www.mtac.org for more information.
   
  RECITALS
Student recitals will be held 3 times a year. To participate in recital will help a student to gain performing experiences and to also motivate and encourage student in their musical progress, as well as to build technique and musicality. Therefore, we strongly encourage our students to participate in all the recitals.
